Gérald F. LaPointe passed away peacefully during the night of July 2nd 2017 at the Hull Hospital, at the age of 81. He resided in Gatineau, although he was born and raised in the Lac Mégantic region. Gerry has left on his next adventure to join his beloved wife Barbara Lewis, her sons Russ and Jim and his daughter Lise. He is survived by his sister Mariette (Réginald) and his brother Marcel (Marie-Paule), his daughter Gisèle (Dan), his two sons, André (Suzette) and Mark, as well as his grandchildren Cielle, Autumn Vale and Kyara. After retiring as an officer from the Canadian Armed Forces, he followed his interests in physics, math and systems engineering for a career in the aerospace industry. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Following his wishes, there will be no funeral. A private ceremony will be held for family. À l’hôpital de Hull, dans la nuit du 2 juillet 2017, à l’âge de 81 ans, est décédé M. Gérald F. LaPointe, conjoint de feu Barbara Lewis, fils de feu Lucien Lapointe, et de feu Marguerite Lacourse, demeurant à Gatineau et natif de la région du Lac Mégantic. Gerry poursuit sa grande aventure avec sa chère femme, les deux fils de Barrie, Russ et Jim, et sa fille Lise. Il laisse dans le deuil sa sœur Mariette (Réginald), son frère Marcel (Marie-Paule), ses enfants Gisèle (Dan), André (Suzette) et Mark, ses petits-enfants Cielle, Autumn Vale et Kyara. Après sa retraite en tant qu’officier des Forces armées canadiennes, il a suivi ses intérêts en physique, mathématiques et l’ingénierie des systèmes appliqués à l’industrie aérospatiale. Il restera dans les souvenirs de tout ceux qui l’ont connu. Suivant ses désirs, il n’y aura pas de service funéraire. La famille tiendra une cérémonie privée.
